Now laptops a big no no during classes

There was an era when colleges considered laptops necessary for every student during lectures but now they seem to be shying away from the norm and the reason being the advent of social networking. American professors feel that today laptops are more of a distraction during the class as students seem more tempted to log on to popular social networking sites or check latest sport scores rather than taking down notes which at the end of the day is affecting their studies.

David Cole, a law lecturer in Washington has already banned laptops from his lecture and is among the first professors to ban technology in his class. Laptops have even been banned across classrooms at the American University, University of Virginia, College of William and Mary, George Washington University and still counting. In one of the recent instances a physics professor at University of Oklahoma threw liquid nitrogen on laptop and smashed it on the floor. This moment was captured on video and became hugely popular on YouTube.

Students of today will really have a hard time staying away from the technology as machines have been a part of their classrooms for a very long time. Now it needs to be seen if colleges will be able to cure students of this addiction or not.
